Have you been interested in attending one of our auctions but are not sure where to start? If so, this article is for you! Lakeside Storage hosts all auctions on Saturdays at 11AM, however we do not have one every Saturday. The best way to keep track of auction dates is to check KSL or the Daily Herald, or to give our office a call (801-377-5900). On the day of the auction we recommend arriving at Lakeside at least 10 minutes prior to the start of the auction (11AM). Upon arrival, you will need to come into our office and sign in and get your bidding number. As 11AM approaches, one of our managers will come out and read all bidders the auction rules. After the rules have been read its time to hit the units! Although you are not allowed go inside the unit and touch or move the items, you are given a couple minutes to take a look inside. We recommend bringing a flashlight so that you can see the entire unit, including the dark corners! After you've had time to check out the items inside the unit, our auctioneer will start the bidding at a fair price. As the bid rises, you can continue to raise your bet to the highest amount you are willing to pay for the unit. When the unit has hit its highest bid and the auctioneer announces its sold, the auction is over for that unit. If you are the unit winner, you will then return to the office to pay the deposit and bid price for the unit. We give our auction winners until the following Monday at noon to remove all items and clean the unit. After the unit is empty you will receive your deposit back. Lakeside Storage does ask all auction winners to return any personal items found in the unit (pictures, social security cards, birth certificates or diaries) so that we can give them back to the original tenant. All auction winners are anonymous and no personal information will be given out to anyone under any circumstance. We hope to see you at our next auction on March 4, 2017 at 11AM!
